In any case, all the speculations are significant as a major aspect of its chocolate deals. This paper embraces to give an investigation of the of the start to finish gracefully chain of Cadbury milk chocolate. This is done through featuring on various issues, for example, the job of coordinations, gracefully chain the board, among others. Slack (2009, pp. 57) affirms that it is critical to take note of that in offering an explanation to open call; most chocolate firms have chosen to deal with building up their flexibly through joining activities tha t demands tending to a few social issues. we are twins but ARE OUR AGENDAS!

we are twins but ARE OUR AGENDAS! Allan: These are the little notebooks that literally organize our entire lives (at least during the semester). Lots of people use Google Calendar or other similar online planning apps/websites, but we just like using physical agendas more. For one, it’s fun to buy a new one each year with a cute new cover! This year, mine (the one on the right), had a plastic pocket to put in any design you want. So, I printed out one of my favorite backgrounds from Steven Universe! Another reason I like physical agendas is because I like to very excessively cross out tasks as soon as they’re done. Friends who’ve seen my agenda have been amused by just how *much* I cross out items, especially when compared to the way Danny crosses out items. I guess in this sense, our agendas are more like cousins or even distant relatives as opposed to twins lol Danny: As Allan said, we’ve both always gotten new agendas at the beginning of each school year. But while Allan has consistently filled up every slot of every week of every agenda he’s ever had, I always stop using mine after the first two-weeks of the year or so. Every year, I try to make more use of my agenda, but I usually fail and my agendas always end up 90% empty. I think this is mainly because assignments are pretty repetitive and after I get into the swing of the semester, I find myself needing to look at my agenda less and less. And if I ever need a reminder, I just email it to myself and leave it unread until I finish the task. This semester, however, was probably *the* hardest semester I’ve had and that is very much reflected by my agenda, or I guess by the fact that I actually used my agenda for pretty much the entirety of the semester. And now that, for the first time ever, my agenda crossing out habits and patterns are evident enough, we decided to make this comp arison post. Allan: This week shows stress in the form of a sticky note! I had to put it over an already COMPLETLEY scratched out section to make more room, Danny: while my agenda was a canvas for a beautifully illustrated stress sketch in the bottom right corner of Thursday. Allan: In this week of September, I had to color outside the lines. Truly, my most shameful moment. My five-year-old self would be pleased though. Danny: This week, I implemented Allans sticky note method. Also, some more stress doodles on Saturday and Sunday.         Allan: These two pictures are a before dropping 6.042 and after dropping 6.042 comparison. So it may seem like nothing much changed in either of our agendas, but there was definitely a decrease in our hosage. Sometimes, density of cross outs doesnt necessarily correlate with how busy a week actually is. Since some assignments just arent as time consuming, one week could have a lot of things that each take a lot of time, and another week might have a lot of things that each take less amounts of time.         Danny: A similar phenomenon of agendas being un-indicative of hosage can be seen in the succession of these three pictures. By the end of the semester we really only had a few assignments between all of our classes, but those were all long essays or projects that would take up a significant amount of time. So while it looks like our agendas were getting emptier/less filled with time, we were, in fact, getting progressively more and more hosed/drowned/swallowed/etc. Another reason for this disconnect, besides decrease in number of tasks, was that I was so busy that I forgot to use my agenda (see third picture). Allan: I didnt forget to use my agenda, but I did forget to cross things off it. Crossing items off my agenda honestly feeds my soul though, so my forgetting to do so, in and of itself, is very indicative of how occupied I actually was. Anyways, for the first weeks of December, we were spending multiple hours a day finishing our final projects for our animation class. And the second week of December, we stayed up until 4 am everyday to work on it. Then, the day before our final was due, we both still had quite a bit to do, but Borderline (a project that lets students create murals enhanced by augmented reality in the tunnels of MIT) had it’s semester showcase. It was a night of friends, art, and food (we ordered so much food a scary amount of food).     Borderline Exec 3 photo cred: Willy V. 18 After this, our wing in Next House, 3E aka Danger Third Rail, had its annual gift exchange/Secret Santa spin-off, Secret Senpai.     Danny: I got a freakin awesome studio ghibli tote bag! Its not pictured because it was shipped after the exchange, but I have since received it, and it really adds to my weeb-suburban-mom aesthetic. Allan: I got a pair of awesome Steven Universe socks! It adds to my steven-universe-is-my-life aesthetic. So because of Borderline and Secret Senpai, we ended up having to stay up until 7am that day (or I guess, the next day?)  to finish our animation projects. It was truly painful  worth it  because both events were really fun! Collective voice for rest of post: Even though the timing  wasnt ideal,  both events were really awesome! After we caught up on sleep from that, we had to begin  reviewing  relearning learning  6.00 (intro to programming and data science) in preparation for our final. We actually only left Next House 2 times in a period of 6 days. Our existence was sad, sedentary, and solely comprised of studying, besides those 2 times. The first thing that got us out of Next was going to see an acapella concert (the Logs fall semester show) with a friend! Their performance, themed around The Bachelorette, was amazing and hilarious! As we were leaving Kresge auditorium, amidst the crowd of people, we somehow totally coincidentally bumped into every exec member/friend (minus the benevolent overlord president) from a club we’re part of! Here’s a picture! We then spontaneously went ice skating with the friend in the hat, and her entry from Macgregor. The second of the two times we went outside was for a baking study break with that very club! Even though barely anyone outside the exec of the club showed up, it was really fun to just bake scones and talk and listen to holiday music! Okay so, finals are done now. Another semester is checked off and crossed out (or in Allans case, overly scribbled out). It was pretty rough academically, but our agendas made it organized, and the people in our lives made it very very sweet. Post Tagged #Next House #photography #The Borderline at MIT

The Arab Uprisings Book Review Essay - 2078 Words

Budd 1 Liam Budd 260465022 POLI 227 TA: Sherif Fouad The Arab Uprising: The Unfinished Revolutions of the New Middle East Marc Lynch defines the 2011 Arab uprisings as â€Å"an exceptionally rapid, intense, and nearly simultaneous explosions of popular protest across an Arab world united by shared transnational media and bound by a common identity† (Lynch, 9). In chapter 4, Lynch discusses the Arab Spring that occurred from December 2010 through to March 2011, during which the protests developed into a regionwide uprising. The real revolutionary contribution of Tunisia and Egypt â€Å"was their rapid and massive diffusion into a regional tidal wave† (Lynch, 68). The close coverage of the uprisings encouraged other movements. Common themes emerged as protesters imitated each other’s tactics and rhetoric and regimes responde d similarly, insisting that their countries’ particularities shielded them from the regional malaise. What made these protests different was that they succeeded in driving leaders from power, the traditionally effective authoritarian regime responses backfired, and they framed local acts into a single coherent regional narrative. Light in the shadow of jihad the struggle for truth Free Essays

Introduction The world needs to learn to understand each other’s faith and belief and respect it in every way.  Following the September eleventh tragedy, Christians face the dilemma of comprehending the truths of the tragedy and responding to it in a Christian way. That dilemma is answered through deep study and understanding Islam guided by the bible and prophesies contained in it. We will write a custom essay sample on Light in the shadow of jihad: the struggle for truth or any similar topic only for you Order Now America and the world must realize that God fulfills his purpose frequently through disasters. With the tragedy, a lot of essential questions arose: Is terrorism the true focus of Islam? Is god absent in such disasters? As America mourned, some celebrated. It is true that some people may think that they are terrorists but some may think they are freedom fighters. The belief that actions can be justified politically has been going on for years. Politicization of morality has given an opportunity to justify actions politically and one it is done, it could be morally accepted as well (Lyon). Other democratic nations believe that the individual is the arbiter of right and wrong. But some like Bin Laden thinks differently. Faith is the basis of morality but at the same time it is the root of relativism in every means to establish one religion. This makes their inconsistencies evident. If moral agnosticism is the absolute of relativism, how come relativism tells us that no one can discern right from wrong?  On the other hand, the attackers have spent their last hours with prostitutes in night clubs. If their absolute is Islam, why spend their last night to satisfy their sexual needs instead of their spiritual needs? Zacharias’ Book Ravi suggested in his book, Light in the Shadow of Jihad: The Struggle for Truth, five major questions that prevail in people’s mind after the September 11 Bombing. These questions are: Did the terrorists’ action portray a true Islam belief? What can state and church do in shaping the outlook of people on religion and how does it affect the culture of the nation? Did the incident illustrate an Islamic tradition or such only undermine the religion of Islam? Were there any known predictions that such phenomenon would actually occur? What is the implication of such incident to the world and to the Future?  Moreover, He implicitly asked how God views the incident (Zacharias). Was God in favor of what happened? Why did He allow such violence take place? These were few of the questions directed to question the inclination God towards the 9/11 Bombing. Osama Bin Laden; A Protagonist or an Antagonist? Discernment begins with intuition. But as everybody knows, may often be wrong. Like for instance, Osama Bin Laden’s intuition has failed him (Zacharias). After 9/11, he deliberately complained about the bloodshed in Afghanistan. The bloodshed has suddenly become too reprehensible for Bin Laden. Intuition is simply not enough bases for discernment. Therefore, reasoning must come to place. But how do we move from intuition to reasoning? Relativist has said that reason could not move us to morality and that people are not capable of discerning right from wrong simply because right or wrong does not exist. Morality derived from intuition then become in conflict with morality derived from reasoning (Zacharias). As these conflicts arise, a need to go back to the foundation of morality is in place. The society merely recognizes that need. It is urgent and must be taken into consideration. Bin Laden, has his own way of looking at and discerning of the Islamic belief and tradition. Likewise, he has his own way of interpreting the codes of conduct or the morality included and written in the Quran. If his decision failed him, then logically, somehow his knowledge and interpretation of the Quran may be different from the original message of it. Muslim, Islam, Allah and the 9/11 Bombing September 11 terrorists thought or believed that their action is Allah’s will (Zacharias). While other Muslims think it is corrupted Islam. If such difference of belief exists among Muslims, what does other people from other beliefs to believe? Is terrorism a fruit of an Islamic worldview or a fruit of socio economic situation? People then must examine Islam to answer this urgent question. As discussed in the book, Islam is a religion which originated from Muhammed. It was through military invasion that Islam was spread out. After the death of Muhammed without a heir or successor, Islam movement was divided (Zacharias). In this time of division, some readings of Quran were destroyed. Thus, this incident becomes a controversy among critics for they think that textual tampering took place. Four sources of Quran accounts and history after the incident emerged- the Hadith, the Sunna, the Sira, and the Tafsir (Zacharias). But different sects of Islam have different levels of importance to these sources. This is an evidence why Muslims, most of the time, are not unanimated in terms of opinion, actions or methods within their religion today. In this situation, Muslims rely on abrogation. But in this method, another problem arises. Which Quran readings abrogate other Quran readings? Differences among Muslims arise even more. Some Muslims persecute Christians to the point of killing them. There have been several reports about it. Like 9/11 tragedy is persecution to Christians (Muhammad). It is extreme and unfair. Educators has attempted to have an in-depth study of Islam but has met resistance with Muslim leaders. There is a chance that they are trying to manipulate the minds of other Muslims. What could be derived from Islamic history? There exists a major confusion among Muslims about their religion. This confusion is primarily caused by the division that is still evident today. From this as well, we can safely say that not all Muslims agree to violence (Zacharias). Organizing and restudying of Islam is urgently needed by Muslims. Christianity and the War of the Religious Faiths What about in Christianity? Is it not in any way predicted or prophesied by the bible? Throughout history, the prophesies in the bible has come to pass. As for example, in the book of Daniel about Babylon, Nebuchadnezzar had a problem about a statue which has four different parts.   It was a dream that Daniel had to interpret. Daniel explained to Nebuchadnezzar that it concerns kingdoms (Muhammad). The first kingdom would overcome the kingdom before them until it reach the fourth. These came to pass as prophesied. Jesus conquered human history without any political agenda. According to theologians, God is there but his presence is not obvious. This is called â€Å"the hiddenness of God†   (Muhammad). Atheist, on the other hand, thinks that if God would manifest himself, they would believe he exists. Other Christians sometimes wish so too. As Muslims persecute Christians, Christians persecute Muslims as well (Muhammad). After 9/11, Muslims faced everyday the discrimination against them. Every Muslim is perceived to be a terrorist (Lyon). What does that say about Christianity? What is the difference between Muslims and Christians with this king of discrimination? This desire to see God tells more about us than about God. We turn to God when we have no one or nowhere to turn to and questions him when are needs are not met. This happens because of our tendency to rely on our intellect and the continuous nurturing of our minds with knowledge. Deep inside each of us yearns for rational evidence.  With Christians, faith varies but same beliefs are evident. A true relationship with God is when we begin to relate to him in both our ups and downs. God has a purpose. He intends to have us trust him and submit our lives to him in the midst of tragedy. Religion and the Future The world is suffering from lack of critical minds in relation to worldviews (Lyon). We are corrupted with so much information, too many voices. But it will never be enough for people top just listen to them and absorb everything. It is important for people to filter it before accepting it as true. The world should put to use faith as a basis of morality. Intuition and Reasoning is not enough. We should put to use the basis of religion as the solid ground of morality in our society. Religion may vary but it is sure the most solid, even if it may be inconsistent, foundation for morality. Respect for other culture and religion must be evident in every individual for the betterment of humanity. We may live in a democratic society but still discrimination is still evident. We must realize and accept that our religion or faith varies. Respect comes from understanding and learning each others cultures. Learning from the experience and moving on from it is in need. It is a challenge for everyone to understand each other. It is time for us to move on from the tragedy. It is time to move on from the corrupted and discriminating society that we are today. Let us move on and be better. Works Cited: Lyon, David. Surveillance after September 11 . Blackwell Publishing Limited , 2003. Muhammad, Elijah. Christianity Versus Islam. Sybil the Person within the Person an Example of the Topic Psychology Essays by

Sybil the Person within the Person by Expert Suzzane | 28 Dec 2016 Sybil is a movie based on the life of a young woman who suffered from blackouts and emotional breakdowns. Within the psychiatric world Sybil is one of the most sensational and controversial cases of Dissocciative Identity Disorder. After seeking therapy the character Sybil was diagnosed with Multiple Personality Disorder now known as Dissociative Identity Disorder, DID, but scholars today debate the existence of the disease which they say was projected onto the patient by her therapists suggestions. Her blackouts and breakdowns finally prompted Mason to seek out medical treatment in 1954 after she awakens from an episode in a lake knee deep in water. She began seeing Cornelia Wilbur, a psychotherapist who worked with Mason for 11 years. Wilbur diagnosed and treated Mason who after treatment went on to teach art in Lexington, Kentucky and run an art gallery out of her home. Mason and Wilbur became lifelong friends. Mason was described by neighbors and community members as quiet and kind. However, before her treatment Mason may have had as many as 16 different personas including that of two males. In one scene a young Sybil makes a Christmas tree ornament, a magazine picture pasted onto a foil covered star. Sybil shows the star to her mother who is making chocolate chip cookies. The mother is singing nonsense songs and acting somewhat curt with Sybil who then goes and hangs the star on the tree. When Sybil asks her mother to come and look, the scene becomes as scary as any horror film. During the next scene we see an adult Sybil reliving the experience in therapy. It is here that we learn that Sybil was kicked repeatedly for hanging the ornament on the tree and then given a candy cane. This cycle of abuse is elsewhere in the movie as Sybils mother trips the young girl and then gives her a cookie. Throughout the movie Sybil is both physically and sexually abused. The horrendous abuse causes her to form distinct personalities which originate from her extreme emotional response to the abuse. According to the book there was Peggy Lou, an assertive, angry personality, Peggy Ann, a similar personality that exhibits more fear than anger, Marcia Lynn, a writer and painter, Marcia Lucinda, a maternal personality, Vanessa Gail, a sexy self, Mike and Sid, Sybils two male personalities both were carpenters and handy men one, Nancy Lou Ann, a political personality afraid of Catholics, Sybil Ann, a pale listless persona, Clara, a deeply religious and critical persona, Ruthie, an infant and three other personalities that represent different responses to the abuse Sybil suffered, (Schreiber, 1989). It is currently not certain if the abuse illustrated in the movie Sybil was representative of Masons childhood. However, the personalities that emerged during therapy do appear to represent real emotional responses to events from Masons childhood. However, Wilbur and Mason both dies in the 1990s and the books author and last person who was personally involved in the project has also past leaving current scholars only a handful of audio cassettes to evaluate Wilburs treatment technique and diagnosis. One doctor, Robert Rieber, of John Jay College of Criminal Justice asserted in a study before the American Psychological Association that Wilburs diagnosis was incorrect. He states that Wilbur falsely led Shirley into creating the characters. Rieber had access to Wilburs tapes and after listening to them he made a case that Mason was an extremely suggestible hysteric. Another doctor who had treated Mason in Wilburs absence also proclaimed that Mason was a hysteric. Either way the fact is that Mason did exhibit symptom of severe trauma that embodied itself in the appearance of very developed and strong personality traits which developed as result of emotions which the young Mason could not understand or process. According to skeptics Wilbur lead Mason to name the emotional personas. They assert that Wilbur did this initially to allow Mason the opportunity to discuss her abuse through the voice of another so she did not have to acknowledge it herself. This is slightly different from a person who actual has the disorder and their subconscious does the disconnecting. Rieber and others publicly have stated that Wilbur and the books author sensationalized Masons case to sell books. However, a close friend of Masons said that she asserted that the book and movie was true. As a possible highly suggestible hysteric patient she probably would believe that the book and movie represented real events. Sybils behavior is not typical of a dissociated identity disorder. Most documented cases of DID do not have as many alter selves and they generally do not behave so drastically. According to Rieber, Wibur often asked Mason to speak to her in the voice of Peggy or another one of Masons so called personas. He said that by leading the patient in this fashion she implanted the characters and their identities into Mason. The movie, however, does not give evidence to this. In the movie Sybil truly exhibits the symptoms of a DID. Under certain circumstance a psychiatrist may use prolong interviews, hypnosis or drugs during interviews before being able to make a diagnosis of DID, (Real Mental Health, 2006). Rieber criticized Wilbur for using drugs and hypnosis during diagnosis yet in the movie, which may or may not be representative of the real case, Wilburs use of these methods was consistent with the description of diagnosis. All of these measures encourage a shift of personality states during the evaluation, (Real Mental Health, 2006, 6). Personality shifts were present in the film. Sybil would transform into a baby, teenager or carpenter at the mention of certain memories. Some of the symptoms of DID that Sybil experienced were blackouts, which were evident throughout the film, headaches and time lapses. However, there are a few other symptoms that Sybil did not have such as awareness of others. Many DID patients are aware of other personalities which share their body. This can manifest itself in the form of voices or hallucinations, (Real Mental Health). It is uncertain if Mason actually was a DID case. Investigations by several different doctors uncovered no evidence of abuse at Masons hometown. Although people who knew Mason as a child and knew her mother did say that there was something strange about their relationship. There is virtually no mention about Masons father and any knowledge he may have had of the abuse but it is certain that after therapy Mason did completely break all ties with her family and hometown. No matter if the movie was highly dramatized or if it was an accurate portrayal of Masons illness one thing is certain the character Sybil was a DID. She showed symptoms of transforming from one personality to another depending on the level of fear, sadness, loneliness or happiness that she experienced. Each emotion was distinctly represented by a fully articulated persona. By the end of the movie Sybil is able to face her personalities after disclosing the final most horrendous abuse memory. Each personality had access to these memories yet none of them were able to share it with Wilbur. However, in the final scenes of the movie Sybil is able to express to Wilbur the sexual abuse that she endured and thus is able to meet her other personalities which were protecting her from this final piece of her childhood. This too is symptomatic of a DID case. The original personality often creates the personas in an attempt to protect themselves from emotions so extreme they can not process them.
